Nerissa Mengyi Li
Artist /Curator /Researcher Location: Shenzhen & LondonEmploying Practice-based Research and World-building as core methodologies, Li approaches artistic creation as an ongoing inquiry into the relationship between humanity and the world. Grounded in the philosophy of the "Three Realms of Viewing Mountains," her work transitions from external observation to internal reflection, ultimately moving toward "Unity of Man and Nature" (Tian Ren He Yi) where self and world re-fuse. Through this, her artistic creation responds to her ongoing reflections on how humans can re-establish connections with themselves, others, and the world, and how individuals can remain genuinely "human" in the future. Working across moving image, immersive environments, and public art, she constructs infinitely expanding perceptual realms of the future wherein body, landscape, and existence undergo continuous metamorphosis and integration—evolving into a living, dynamic system.
Her work has been exhibited and presented in China, the UK, France, Italy, and the US, including a collateral event of the Venice Biennale, the Musée du Louvre in Paris, as well as venues across London and New York. In 2026, she was selected for LUMINEX 4.0: Resonance of Connection in Los Angeles, marking the first time a Chinese artist has been shortlisted for the festival. Her work was also selected for The "Dream" Issue & Exhibition, presented by The Untitled Magazine and The Untitled Space in Tribeca, New York. She also maintains ongoing interdisciplinary research collaborations with scholars from the University of Cambridge and University of the Arts London (UAL), while contributing to research and artistic planning for historical heritage sites in China.
李梦沂（Nerissa Mengyi Li）是一位在中国与伦敦之间工作的跨学科艺术家。她出生于重庆、成长于深圳，毕业于 Istituto Marangoni。她亲历深圳在数十年间完成传统意义上可能需要数百年才能发生的高速城市发展与科技变革，深切感受到快速变化中人与人之间的聚散无常；与此同时，她一次次返回重庆，面对大足石刻等历经数百年、由一代又一代人持续完成的文化遗产。这种截然不同的时间经验给她带来深刻冲击，也成为她艺术实践的重要起点。此后，她持续在中国与欧洲之间展开学习与研究，并与剑桥大学等机构合作开展多个历史艺术与文化学术项目。现代和古代、东方和西方的时间遗产让她不断思考：当世界持续变化，技术越来越深地介入人的感知、记忆与关系时，人如何重新连接自己、他人与世界，并继续成为真正意义上的“人”？
她以基于实践的研究（Practice-based Research）与世界构建（World-building）为核心方法，将艺术创作作为对人与世界关系的持续探索。以“看山”的三重境界为创作哲学，从外部世界进入内在世界，并进一步走向人与世界重新融合的“天人合一”，以艺术创作回应她对人与自身、他人与世界如何重新建立连接，以及未来世界中人如何继续成为真正意义上的“人”这一持续思考。通过动态影像、沉浸式环境与公共艺术等形式，她构建无限延展的未来感知世界，使身体、景观与存在在其中不断变形、融合，并最终形成一个不断生长、持续演化的生命系统。
她的作品曾在中国、英国、法国、意大利及美国展出与呈现，包括威尼斯双年展相关平行活动、巴黎卢浮宫博物馆，以及伦敦和纽约等地。2026年，她入围洛杉矶 LUMINEX 4.0: Resonance of Connection，是该艺术节首次华人入围。她的作品亦入选由 The Untitled Magazine 与 The Untitled Space 联合呈现、于纽约 Tribeca 举办的 The “Dream” Issue & Exhibition。她也持续与剑桥大学、伦敦艺术大学（UAL）的学者进行跨学科研究合作，并参与中国多个文化遗址相关的研究与艺术与品牌跨界的规划。
Nerissa Mengyi Li is a cross-disciplinary artist working between China and London. Born in Chongqing and raised in Shenzhen, she graduated from Istituto Marangoni. Having personally witnessed Shenzhen’s hyper-speed urban development and technological transformation over recent decades—processes that traditionally might take centuries—she acutely felt the impermanence and fluidity of human connections amid rapid change. Simultaneously, her repeated returns to Chongqing brought her face-to-face with cultural heritage such as the Dazu Rock Carvings, masterpieces created across centuries by successive generations. This profound contrast between temporal experiences triggered a strong revelation, serving as a critical starting point for her artistic practice. Continuing her learning and research between China and Europe, she has collaborated with institutions such as the University of Cambridge on multiple historical art and cultural academic projects. The temporal legacies of the modern and ancient, East and West, lead her to reflect continuously: as the world transforms and technology intervenes ever more deeply in human perception, memory, and relationships, how can individuals reconnect with themselves, others, and the world to remain genuinely "human"?
